He looked at me, bewildered, as if he thought I was joking.
"It’s round," he finally responded, after an awkward silence, crumbs clinging to his lips.
"Wrong!" I shouted, springing up. "It’s flat! The earth is flat!"
"No, it isn't," he replied with a calm demeanor. "The earth is a globe."
"No, no, no!" I insisted. "You’re mistaken! The earth is flat!"
He looked genuinely concerned, then asked, "What have you been smoking?"
"Just watch this!" I exclaimed, eager to prove my point. I pulled out my laptop and searched for "the lost history of the flat earth" on YouTube.
"What are you going to show me? Another one of those conspiracy videos?" Mark asked skeptically.
"Just wait and see."
However, as I scrolled through my feed, I couldn't locate the video. "It was right here," I muttered, feeling deflated. "I swear it was just here."
"Dude, you’ve been smoking too much weed," Mark said, rising from the couch. "I’m outta here."
He left me alone, lost in contemplation. Yet, my determination to uncover the truth about our planet only intensified. I spent hours searching online, but it felt as if every credible reference to "flat earth proofs" or "the lost history of the flat earth" had vanished from the internet.
