My latest experience on Medium has been quite rewarding. Initially uncertain, I've made notable strides over the past few months. However, this is just the starting point. Now that I've acclimated to the platform, I'm eager to accelerate my growth.
How am I planning to achieve 2000 followers on Medium in the upcoming 90 days?
Section 1.1: Increasing Writing Output
Let’s get straight to it: I will write more frequently.
Currently, I produce one story per day, but my aim is to increase that to at least two stories daily. After developing a writing routine over the last couple of months, it’s time to elevate my output. Writing on Medium has become a vital part of my daily life, and now I need to publish more content.
To break it down:
Producing two stories a day for 90 days equals 180 new articles. This significantly enhances my chances of reaching a wider audience.
Section 1.2: Enhancing Engagement
At present, I dedicate around 20 minutes each day to interact with others. While this has been effective, I see potential for improvement. In the next three months, I plan to extend this to a total of 30 minutes daily.
However, engagement isn’t just about likes and comments. I intend to compile lists of notable stories I come across. This will not only direct attention to my profile but also ensure that talented writers receive the recognition they deserve. A supportive community thrives on mutual encouragement.
Chapter 2: Targeting Suitable Publications
Not all publications on Medium hold the same value. Some, like ILLUMINATION, have minimal requirements, while others, like Mind Cafe, are more selective.
Previously, I focused on publishing in high-traffic publications, believing that more followers from these would be beneficial. While having followers is advantageous, it only pays off if the posting frequency is low and you are a recognized contributor.
Unfortunately, I've often squandered my time pursuing larger publications rather than selecting those that truly align with my goals. Here are the publications I plan to prioritize moving forward:
