Enlightenment and Selling Success: A Poetic Exploration

Written on

Chapter 1: The Illusion of Selling

In the realm of commerce, a profound question arises:

Oh, my dear loves, why do you succumb to this folly?

You self-important beings, after all,

There’s a naïf born every minute,

The fruit from the tree does not stray far.

Various figures like Tolle and Robbins entice you into their gatherings,

While Robbins chuckles at you from the brink of despair,

Peddling that which is inherently unpurchasable.

Oh, my dear loves, why do you fall prey to this charade?

The notion of positive thinking is often just a façade.

Sometimes, yielding can prove to be the strongest path,

Yet you persist in believing you can dominate it all.

You self-important beings, after all.

But heed your souls, half of nature’s call,

Not the power structures clinging to existence.

They fabricate false idols and moralities for everyone,

There’s a naïf born every minute.

Great prophets like Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad,

Attained enlightenment, returning to share the Universal Truth,

Yet failed to enlighten us; why should we now trust in the Shift?

Let us not confine our hearts and minds,

Accessing the boundless Divine,

Harnessing collective strength to overcome all.

Shift your mindset; what’s the harm in reconsidering it?

— Oh, my dear loves.

Thinking Positive?

Think Again

The structure of the poem is a rondeau redoublé, comprising six quatrains (8–10 syllables per line) with two rhymes. The first quatrain consists of four refrain lines, which are subsequently used as the last lines of the following four quatrains, and a phrase from the initial refrain is echoed as a tail at the conclusion of the final stanza.
