Is Chat GPT a Cheating Tool?
The Daily Mail has raised alarms, claiming that Chat GPT serves as a tool for cheating among university students. Consider this: the following paragraph was generated by Chat GPT. Impressive, isn’t it? However, one might argue that it lacks genuine depth and emotion—much like a poorly written pop song.
Despite its ability to handle multiple-choice questions with ease, I would contend that it still falls short when tasked with crafting an essay that can withstand the analysis of a critical reader.
Can Chat GPT Write Song Lyrics?
In an experiment, Chat GPT was prompted to create lyrics in the style of Nick Cave. The result? A collection of lines that, while technically coherent, lacks the emotional resonance of true artistry. Even Nick Cave himself was not impressed, which speaks volumes about the machine's limitations.
While it's true that Chat GPT can generate lyrics, one has to wonder: who would genuinely want to hear those words set to music? (No offense to Gen Z, who might embrace any catchy tune, no matter how trivial.)
Can It Debug Code?
This brings me to my primary concern regarding AI. If we start relying on machines to manage our code, could we be paving the way for a dystopian future?
However, my bigger worry lies with the human programmers. After years of working in solitude, communicating through code, how will they adjust to interacting with actual people? Imagine the shock of seeing sunlight, green parks, or even just a bustling McDonald's for the first time! We need to prepare them for this transition ahead of time.

I felt compelled to write this piece after months of not engaging in creative writing. Does AI concern you? Should it? The answer varies depending on how it’s used. Music and writing are fundamentally human endeavors, and while Chat GPT can produce information and structure sentences logically, it lacks the deeper emotional connection that defines human creativity.
